“The land that brought degradation is the exact land that will bring hope and freedom.”

"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done"

Genesis 50:20

I am Alvin Barnes of Jackson, Mississippi. Where I am from matters deeply. For a long time, Jackson was all I knew, and it is where I got my start. It is the foundation where I first learned how people and complex systems truly work.

However, I am not naive enough to think this city is all there is of the world, but we are undeniably made of the places that shape our early years. I am as much a product of Jackson as I am of my mother, Dana Barnes, and as much of this city as I am of my own family. That is exactly why when I write, I cite my house, which is Barnes, and my city, which is Jackson. Jackson and I have a storied history; some would say Jackson is where my fall or ruin occurred. Some would say the city betrayed me, and its systems failed me. I would say that, just as Jackson itself has faced decline, true redemption must occur in the very same place as the embarrassment and failure. Jackson is the home of my story, exactly as God has seen fit to have it. Because of that, it must be the location where His redemption and triumph are fully displayed. The land that brought degradation is the exact land that will bring hope and freedom.

From my start in politics and community organizing to my professional career, everything I share is grounded in this identity, built in this city, and moving forward with purpose. While my story is deeply personal, my career is built on those same principles of resilience, strategy, and community empowerment. For those looking for a formal overview of my background, my professional biography is outlined below:

My career began in grassroots politics, where I served as a prominent figure in the Young Democrats of Mississippi, NAACP Youth & College divison and led the revitalization of the state chapter of Organizing for Action. My early community work involved organizing large-scale marches, leading protests for justice, and executing significant get-out-the-vote campaigns.

Building on that foundation of high-stakes leadership, I established myself as a dynamic entrepreneur right here in my hometown. I launched several small businesses specializing in digital and social marketing, legal consulting, and management consulting. Expanding my professional footprint even further, I joined my family accounting firm as a public accountant and vice chair of the board of my family foundation.

Today, I use this unique blend of skills to help small businesses and law firms thrive. My goal is to empower clients to streamline their financial, marketing, and legal processes, ensuring sustainable growth and success.

Through this diverse background, I continue to drive positive change and make a lasting impact across the business and legal sectors as Alvin Barnes of Jackson, Mississippi. I also hope to spread the charity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through my familes foundtion philanthropic work.

When I am not working with clients, you will usually find me reading, writing, and having all manner of pursuits, or supporting my favorite football team, the New York Giants.
