I will have faith, no matter what may befall me. I will be patient, even in the midst of troubles. I will not fear the strain of life, because I believe that God knows just what I can bear. I will look to the future with confidence. I know that God will not ask me to bear anything that could overcome or destroy me.
A steady confession for hard days
Faith is not pretending everything is easy. Faith is trusting that God is present in everything I face and that he wisely limits the weight I carry. Patience is not passivity. Patience is disciplined hope. It is the choice to move one honest step at a time without surrendering to fear or bitterness.
What I choose today
I will place my day in God’s hands. I will act with courage even if my feelings tremble. I will let patience shape my tone, my words, and my pace. I will refuse the lie that I am alone. I will remember that God knows my limits better than I do.
A word to anyone fighting to stay sober
You are not your worst moment. You are not your last mistake. Recovery grows when faith and daily structure work together. Keep your next right step small and clear. Keep your support within reach. Keep gratitude on your lips. God’s grace is real and present for you right now.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may put this day in the hands of God. I pray for faith, so that nothing will upset me or weaken my determination to stay sober.
With faith and resolve,
Alvin Barnes of Jackson, Mississippi
